Meet The EDGEucators
Our EDGEucation team is made up of passionate Educators, Ontario Certified Teachers, Youth Motivators and Speakers
Michelle grew up dancing, being active and leading others from a very young age. After graduating from WLU, she pursed a dream of working professionally as a dancer on cruise ships, theme parks and in musical theatre across Canada and the Caribbean. Michelle was then drawn to what came the most natural to her - teaching. She completed her B.Ed degree, and after spending years in the classroom, she is now passionately committed to getting dance and movement into ALL areas of education through the Groove EDGEucation programs and resources with her "partner in crime" Amy.
In 2015 they received an award from CIRA given to individuals who have made a positive contribution to the field of education through non-competitive programming. Michelle also teaches in the B.Ed program at UOIT and the Dance AQ course through York, inspiring pre-service and current educators to make movement accessible for all students. Michelle has been actively involved as an educational presenter at major conferences such as PHE Canada, OPHEA, CODE, CIRA (to name a few!) and as a consultant to school boards and community groups through training of teachers and front line staff. When Michelle isn't on the Groove dance floor you can find her engaged in fitness and health, traveling, and spending time with the two biggest loves of her life - her husband Dave and son James.
